In 2009, whilst researching The Courtauld Gallery exhibition, Beyond Bloomsbury: Designs of the Omega Workshops 1913 - 19, Matthew Bourne, Director of Christopher Farr, approached The Courtauld Gallery with the idea of making rugs based on Omega designs
His proposal was to follow the design of each rug, working from surviving sketched, and to employ only the highest level of craft skills and the best materials
The result is a contemporary interpretation of an Omega design, faithful in spirit but in no way a repro rug
To mark this collaboration between Christopher Farr and The Courtauld Gallery we have produced this hand tufted rug in a limited edition of 145
It is made from 100% Hand dyed, hand spun wool
105 x 175 cm
