This scarf is inspired by designs from The Omega Workshops, founded by the artist and critic Roger Fry in 1913. Although the company only operated for six years, it was a powerhouse of radical designs from many of the most avant-garde artists of the day including Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Wyndham Lewis, Frederick Etchells, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska and Winifred Gill.

Inspired by one of Eugene Boudin evocative seascape paintings, exhibited at The Courtauld Gallery. Boudin, the 19th century French landscape artist (1824-1898), started the trend for painting out of doors, paving the way for the Impressionists. He is best known for his maritime scenes and his fabulous skies.

A chiffon scarf based on The Lac d’Annecy, c.1896 (oil on canvas) by Cézanne, Paul (18391906). Painted at Talloires on the shores of this lake in Haute-Savoie, in the foothills of the French Alps, looking towards the Château de Duingt, half hidden by trees on the far side of the lake.
